Global rap trailblazer Star2 kicks off his new EP Lonely Summer Nightz with a heater—“Here We Go” featuring rising Ka-ren artist Ler Mu Dex and R&B mainstay Luh Kel. Blending laid-back confidence with melodic bounce, this collab hits with purpose and soul.
“Here We Go is the first track off my new EP with Ler Mu Dex,” says Star2. “It’s fire. This song is a vibe.” And he’s not lying. Ler Mu Dex, like Star2, is Ka-ren—an Indigenous group displaced by war in Burma. Originally from the Mae La Oo refugee camp, Ler Mu Dex brings lived experience and raw perspective to every bar.
Star2’s journey from surviving genocide in Myanmar to becoming a voice for the Ka-ren people has been nothing short of remarkable. From refugee camp to San Diego, he’s transformed pain into power—documented in his award-winning film Return to Kawthoolei.
With Luh Kel’s growing presence in Asia (collabs with Sprite, tours in China), this three-way link-up blends cross-cultural roots with global ambition. It’s not just a song—it’s a statement.
“Here We Go” is more than a summer anthem—it’s a spotlight for refugee voices and a wave of Asian talent rising worldwide.
