In the gritty landscape of modern hip-hop, Newark’s own SlimBrick continues to push boundaries with his latest track “Toxic.” The BrickCity native showcases his versatility by delivering a freestyle that seamlessly blends cloud hop and emo hip-hop elements, creating an atmospheric vibe that resonates with the current wave of melodic trap.
What sets “Toxic” apart is its authentic, unfiltered production approach – recorded straight from an iPhone, channeling Juice WRLD’s influential melodic style while maintaining SlimBrick’s distinctive edge. This raw production choice adds an intimate layer to the track, proving that genuine artistry transcends studio polish.
Since making waves with his 2022 breakthrough single “SaywhatIMean,” SlimBrick has been crafting his unique lane in the industry. “Toxic” further cements his position as one of Newark’s most promising voices, bringing that essential East Coast grit to the evolving landscape of emotional trap music.
