SHUB and Natasha Fisher Find Clarity in “Eye of the Storm”

Shub
Indigenous electronic pioneer SHUB continues to expand his vision with “Eye of the Storm,” featuring Natasha Fisher, a powerful single from his forthcoming album Heritage (Part Two). The track blends traditional Indigenous hand drum rhythms with early electronic influences, post-dubstep, UK garage, and indie pop textures. The result is immersive and emotionally rich, grounded in SHUB’s powwow-step foundation while pushing far beyond genre expectations.

Natasha Fisher’s vocal performance gives the song its emotional core. Her writing explores sobriety, trauma, intuition, and survival, capturing the fragile stillness that can exist inside chaos. Rather than framing peace as escape, the song presents it as a necessary place of clarity, a point from which healing and forward movement become possible. The laundromat-set video deepens that symbolism, turning everyday imagery into a metaphor for renewal, cycles, and the possibility of getting clean in every sense.

As a former member of A Tribe Called Red and the artist who helped define powwow-step, SHUB has long reshaped Indigenous electronic music. With “Eye of the Storm,” he honors that legacy while continuing to move it forward with honesty, experimentation, and purpose.
