Portland, Maine’s own Roxx The ’96er continues his rise through the Northeast hip-hop scene with the evocative new single “Trips Down 95,” featuring Flames Dot Malik. Known for his distinct delivery and raw lyricism, Roxx has crafted a track that captures both the physical and emotional weight of long drives, late-night thoughts, and the pursuit of purpose.
From homegrown roots writing and mixing from his own bedroom, to earning regional recognition with three full-length projects, Roxx has become a name to watch. “Trips Down 95” showcases this growth. With smooth chemistry between Roxx and Flames Dot Malik, the song rides a soulful yet gritty beat, mirroring the duality of reflection and resilience.
While many artists strive to find their voice, Roxx The ’96er speaks with clarity. His lyrics are grounded in experience, shaped by the unique lens of life in New England’s often-overlooked hip-hop landscape. Trips Down 95 isn’t just a song, it’s a mood, a movement, and a milestone for an emcee who refuses to be boxed in by geography.
As Roxx pushes toward greater exposure, this track serves as proof that authenticity travels well, especially when driven by a purpose.
