Multi-talented singer, songwriter, actress, and spoken word artist Leila Dey has released the visuals of her “DETOUR VISUAL EP,” and it’s an intriguing movie! Coming right after she made waves with the DETOUR audio EP, Leila Dey, in this video, takes us on tour to different aspects of her life, thoughts, and desires.
In the beginning parts of the 19 minutes short film, Leila tells a sweet, goofy love story; all things seem rosy until we get to “The Switch,” where this smooth ecstatic journey quickly turns sour, and she has to choose to continue the ride alone. But first, she must take a detour to retrace and find where things went wrong.
Directed by the incredible Meeka McLean, this captivating short film falls nothing short of the works of Beyonce and Summer Walker, who were the pioneers of this genre.
Leila Dey made her debut in the Canadian music industry in 2012, when she shared the stage with K’Naan and Melanie Fiona. In 2018, she explored the acting side of her talent, debuting in the multi-award-winning movie “Sweetheart.” Her music and other talents have garnered lots of fans on TikTok and all over social media, and in December 2021, Spotify used her as the cover of their MOOD RING Playlist. With an amazing voice and incredible lyrical dexterity, Leila Dey is ready to dominate the music scene and keep flooding us with good music.
