Ghanaian-American rapper Born I released a new video for his track “New Avatars” from the upcoming album “In This Moment.” The music feels like you’re traveling in out, and inward simultaneously.
The visual displays Born I in a ritual of fire, delivering a rallying cry of awakening to all of the New Avatars in the world that anyone can make an impact. A famous Buddhist prayer kicks off the intro and dives into Born I’s search for meaning, understanding, and spiritual freedom.
Coming from the Washington DC area, Born I is a lyricist who moves through genres. He’s also an experienced mediation practitioner and voice on the popular app Balance, who’s led mindfulness retreats across the country, using his music as a teaching method. He describes his music as “Trap Music for Meditators.”
