British wordsmith AKS is turning heads with his latest drop “Let Me Explain (Wordplay Freestyle),” a razor-sharp display of lyrical prowess that’s already catching fire in the UK hip-hop scene. The track has earned cosigns from heavyweight tastemakers, including DJ Semtex of Capital Xtra, who featured it in his #5SongsYouNeedToKnow segment.
The self-directed visualizer stays true to AKS’s signature burgundy and mustard aesthetic, featuring the London-based MC delivering bars while brandishing handwritten placards that amplify his message. It’s a masterclass in DIY artistry, proving that independent artists can create compelling content without compromising their vision.
The track serves as a teaser for AKS’s upcoming project “As Plane As Day: Departures & Arrivals,” showcasing his ability to blend conscious lyricism with soulful production. With publications like EARMILK and Global Grind taking notice, AKS is cementing his position as one of UK hip-hop’s most promising voices.
