“Everything just feels skin deep, I’m a liar, I’m a cheat…”
– quote from “Skins”
Natalie drops her new self-produced single, “Skins.” The song came from lonely days in her apartment during quarantine. Everything started feeling fake.
In “Skins,” Natalie utilized her distinct vocal pitch manipulation to make the words she sings as artificial as possible to make herself sound like an entirely different person. It delves further into the dark theme over a dreamy and ambient trap beat.
Natalie hit the music scene in 2018 with her debut EP “Shameful.” She followed up with several singles combining pop and R&B production. Before releasing music under her own name, Natalie lived in Chicago, producing for others. At the time, she wasn’t getting many placements, so she started making music for herself. She has received nods from publications such as Lyrical Lemonade, Earmilk, and Hilly Dilly. In addition, she has been featured on Spotify playlists, including New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, Teardrop, and Alternative R&B.
