“Fire Chess, we only smoking on the sensi on the highway, put your lighters up…”
– quote from “Only High Grade”
Swiss OG releases a new music video, “Only High Grade,” featuring Fire Chess.
Produced by Jeff McCulloch, “Only High Grade” is a groovy reggae hip-hop song that extols the joy of the weed herb. In Swiss OG’s words, “This one for all my weed smokers.” The song projects a lot of positive vibes.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Swiss OG shares the same birth date as his mentor, Tupac Shakur. Even destiny seemed to have a hand in his dreams of being a hip-hop artist. Growing up, he lived in Parkdale, one of the hardest parts of Toronto, nursing the dream of one day being able to take care of his family. He was the younger of the 2 sons of a single mother who yearned for a better life and knew that he would get it. The desire for a better life is what drives him daily.
Legendary Western artists like Tupac, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, E-40, Scarface, Spice 1, and Kurupt have a strong influence on Swiss OG. However, he respects all other rappers and appreciates their talented contributions to the hip-hop industry.
Swiss started by beatboxing for his friends when he was younger until he picked up the art and ran with it. He has done some collaborations with a number of his favorite artists and mentors in the industry since then, including Sticky Fingaz, YukMouth, EdiDon from the Outlaws, Roscoe from the Dogg Pound, and more.
Being a man who has a strong belief in investment and is hardworking, Swiss OG moved beyond just being a hip-hop artist to becoming the CEO of his own record label, DSDI Records. His energy is currently focused on growing his record label, taking care of his family, and giving back to the community even as he plans to embrace new artists soon.
Swiss OG is set to release his much-anticipated album, “The Game Is All I Know,” which will feature collaborations from some of the industry’s legends.
