Toronto superstar, The Weeknd, sparked concerns when he showed up to the American Music Awards last November with bandages wrapped around his head. Turns out that it was a stunt to emphasize the short films he made for singles “Blinding Lights” and “After Hours,” which illustrated the dangers of drunk driving.
Yesterday, fans thought he’d undergone plastic surgery when he posted a photo of himself on Instagram with a swollen face. The post received several comments such as “This is fu*king scary,” and “This better be fuccin fake because baybay I ain’t in the mood.”
The Weeknd didn’t get plastic surgery, his alterations were the result of the work from artists who were hired for his “Save Your Tears” video. “Save Your Tears” comes from his No. 1 Billboard 200 album “After Hours”. In 24 hours, the video garnered over 6 million views on YouTube.
