“Baby, when the bright lights start to fade, fire up yuh lighter, float on with the waves…”
– quote from “Lighter”
Caribbean music figures, Tarrus Riley, Shenseea, and Rvssian are currently the happening artists in town because of their latest song release “Lighter”. Originating from Jamaica, the song is currently trending in more than 15 countries as the topmost song on several hit lists.
Surprisingly, just in its second week of release, the video of “Lighter” gathered over 10 million views and ranked number 1 on reggae charts on iTunes. It is even popular in several African countries like Kenya and Cameroon. However, the brains behind the lyrics of this blockbuster song are no other but the Los Angeles songwriting and producing trio – LIONCHLD.
You probably haven’t heard of LIONCHLD. They are a group of lyricists and producers you definitely need to get familiar with. They’re up and coming, but they’re rising fast. In no time, they’re going to take over the entertainment industry in grand style. Italian Nathalia Marshall, Canadian Rachael Kennedy, and American Lance Shipp are the masterminds behind the impeccable productions of LIONCHLD. The trio began working together in 2015 after they joined minds together to write a song in Brian Kennedy’s studio. Ever since then, they’ve been painting the city red with energetic, and irresistible lyrics.
The trio has also made stars out of rising music talents with their unique songwriting and producing skills. The artists they have written songs for include Britney Spears, Bebe Rexha, and Timbaland. Currently, they are penning down lyrics for Shenseea’s upcoming singles, as well as Rvssian’s upcoming hit songs.
LIONCHLD is definitely a group you don’t want to joke with – not at this point. They are not only talented with song production, they are also talented artists and instrumentalists. You’ll want to watch this space for them because they’re soon becoming Los Angeles’s happening songwriters and producers.
