“Smoke like a Rasta, they swear I’m Jamaican…”
– quote from “Go”
“Go” is Big Mechoo’s most recent release which promises to paint the entire city red. It was produced by Kleb Records, and has the young artist’s rap signature and melody stamped all over it.
Big Mechoo is a young Northeastern DC native rapper and singer. His musical pursuits began when he was as young as 10 years of age when he would write songs for his church choir to sing. Gradually, Mechoo began to go deeper in his passion for music, until he got his stage name “Big Mechoo” from a line in Meek Mill touting “popping bottle in the club feeling like Meecho”.
Mechoo paved his way in the music scene by unleashing “Barbie” in which he featured artists like Rick Nasty and Fat Trel. Then his “Johnny Bravo” release further announced him in the industry as a talented, rising rapper. Mechoo still proclaims that he is yet to attain the height of his dream in the music industry. The Michael Jackson title of “King of Pop” is the young artist’s target position, but his would be with an infusion of contemporary rap.
As a matter of fact, right from the very start of Mechoo’s musical career, his raps have been greatly influenced by emcees like Gunna and Young Thug. He also works on a Quality Control principle, and looks forward to working with Coach K and Pee from the QC. Certainly, there’s no doubt that Mechoo’s “Go” will significantly expand his fanbase and take him closer to his aspirations in music.
