“Yeah, hating cause I’m self-made, so much game the commentator say it’s well played…”
– quote from “In The Air”
Hip-hop artist David Grice has just released the first track “In The Air” and is already recording high numbers of streaming and listenership online.
The Columbia, South Carolina artist, who has made a name for himself in the hip-hop industry due to his versatility and creativity, is once again raising the bars and exceeding expectations like he has always done.
“In The Air” is the first release from Grice’s first solo project which he is working on alongside popular artists like Cory Plaugh, Brena Marin, Jon Kandy, King Cory, Yung Dza, Corn Beatzz and other award winning artists.
It is no surprise that “In The Air” has gained so much popularity with tons of streaming just a few weeks from its release. Originality and creativity drips from every line Grice spits in the song; you can clearly see that this is a work of a lyricist with not only a love for music, but a unique talent.
From the first word to the last, Grice tells a compelling story with just as much rhymes as unique lyrics with an amazing cadence on a laid back beat that creates a symphony for the ears even as he sings about perseverance, haters and fakers.
“I can feel it in the air, I don’t think they want me here, so when I’m walking I beware, I can always sense the devil when he snare. Will I persevere or will I fail, flip the coin, pick a side, heads or tails. Let’s see who’ll really ride and who gonna bail. It’s up to me to read the lies they trynna tell”, Grice hits hard in the chorus.
It’s a bad side to be on if you’re hating on Grice because not only does he show that he’s way above his enemies, only the words from his verse could literally punch his haters in the face.
If there is one thing Grice is known, respected and loved for, it’s his originality, authentic lyrics and his ability to tell captivating stories with every song he drops even as he leaves you wondering what he would do next.
In case you’re wondering, other tracks from his project are getting ready to drop this year. “The Clock” and “Goo Drip” will be dropping in September and “Best of Me” will be released in October.
For catch ups, some previous tracks by Grice including “Hold On” featuring Marvolus, “Give Me That”, “Swerve” featuring Dusty Roadz, “Can’t Worry ‘Bout You’ featuring Cory Plaugh, “Erase the Hate Speech”, “Better Days” and “Faded” are available for listening online.
