After literally stealing the show at the Met Gala with an oversized red Thom Browne gown that featured sequins, beads, feathers and more embellishments a few weeks ago, which some have often described as the best dress of the night, Cardi B is in the news once again this month.
The 26-year-old award winning rapper, songwriter, television personality and mother has responded to news going around about her plans to start a drink themed television show.
It was alleged that Cardi B had, in February, obtained documentation for entertainment purposes including starting a television show she would title “Bocktails with CardiB”. According to sources, the program would be available both on television and on the internet and would feature celebrities.
Taking to her Twitter account, Cardi B explained she is not doing or hosting a television talk show anytime soon, adding that the trademark documents she filed were drink names for beverages she might want to produce in the future.
Her tweet reads “No I’m not doing a television show. I’m just [trademarking] different drinks name. TMZ gets one piece of information and put legs and feet on that b*tch!”
It’s a no-show for those who expected to see this television show, but also room for anticipation of another line of merchandise from the rapper, especially after her fashion line recently raked in over $1 million in the first 24 hours of introducing her new spring collection.
Beyond doubt Cardi B has had an explosive 2019 in just a few months starting from her emergence as the leading contender for this year’s BET Awards, set for June 23rd at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles where she bagged 7 nominations out of a total of 20 categories, including nods for Best Collaboration and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist.
Just last week she featured in DJ Khaled’s latest explosive album “Father of Asahd”, which has the likes of Beyoncé, Jay Z, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Chance, Big Sean, Lil Wayne, Future, Post Malone and many others.
Cardi B’s musical career can be rightly described as one trailed with awards, as she has over time won a Grammy Award, 3 American Music Awards, 3 MTV Video Music Awards, 9 Billboard Music Awards, 9 BET Hip Hop Awards, and 2 Guinness World Records.
