Atlanta based rapper, song writer and producer, 21 Savage is heading on a summer tour in the United States alongside North Carolina’s rapper and songwriter DaBaby.

21 Savage, who gained wide popularity following the release of his 2015 mixtape “The Slaughter Tape”, made this known on Tuesday May 7th that he, alongside DaBaby would be embarking on a 20-date tour named after his December 2018 album I AM > I WAS.

The tour will kick off July 10th in Oklahoma City and cut across major cities including New York, Houston, Los Angeles, Detroit, Charlotte N.C and a few others to wrap up in Atlanta on August 16th.

DaBaby, whose music has been often described as aggressive and energetic, made his debut with his album “Baby on Baby”, which was released earlier this year and made it to number 25 on the Billboard 200, will join 21 Savage on the tour and open on most tour dates.

The I AM > I WAS tour will be 21 Savage’s biggest tour to date as well as his first act since his legal run in with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on February 3, 2019 when he was detained over unlawfully overstaying in the United States after his visa expired in July 2006. He was eventually released from the Irwin County Correctional Facility 9 days later after being cleared pending the outcome of an expedited deportation hearing.

DaBaby was also in the news in March 2019 over charges connected to a shooting at a North Carolina WalMart, although the charges leveled against him were later dropped after he maintained the incident occurred while he was trying to defend himself after he was accosted by men with weapons as he shopped with his family.

Both rappers will be embarking on this tour that would prove to be a big deal in their musical careers.
